About Me

During the week, I teach high school English and coordinate a humanities application program at the largest high school in Maryland. As a teacher, I highlight the beauty of the human condition and importance of storytelling in literature. Storytelling is also my goal when it comes to my photography. Hopefully you look back on your albums and remember the joy and details from the event, start to finish.

I became interested in photography at ten years old. I'd pose my poor animals or create (I'm about to date myself) Glamour Shots in my room complete with backdrops, make up, big hair, and friends. Fast forward to adulthood with my first DSLR and I'd found a new love for finding a great shot. I tagged along with a friend's photographer during her wedding in 2014 and she was kind enough to teach me the business side of photography. I've been doing photography part time ever since.

When I'm not teaching or doing photography, I'm traveling, gardening, remodeling, or cuddling with my hubby and fur kids. Since there are three cats and two dogs in the Fillpuz (Fillman + Corpuz) household and I'm not allowed to have any more, I volunteer with a local animal rescue so I can live vicariously through others who are in the adoption process.

"Sarah was a consummate professional, thinking ahead of the shots we wanted. From planning to execution, to flexibility during our COVID wedding, she really was a superhero. She collaborated with other team members and caught shots that we treasure to this day. Her communication before, during, and after was quick and responsive to our questions and ideas, and her platform for downloading photos later was easy to access and download from. We'd book her again in a heartbeat!"
